A night of swinging contemporary jazz at the Crescent Arts Centre featuring prominent young Irish musicians David Lyttle (drums), Conor McCreanor (bass), Joel Byrne-McCullough (guitar) and Mark McKnight (guitar).

Drummer David Lyttle has studied at the Banff Centre (Canada), Skidmore Jazz Institute (NY) and has received private tuition in New York with leading drummers such as Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts. Recently returned from performing in Toronto, he regularly works with visiting musicians from the USA and has performed with Irish players such as Michael Buckley, Myles Drennan, Nigel Mooney and Louis Stewart.

Conor McCreanor is gaining a reputation as one of Northern Ireland’s leading session bassists. He frequently tours with The 4 Of Us and Claire Sproule, and has performed on BBC, ITV and RTE television. Conor is currently endorsed by Mark Bass.

Joel Byrne-McCullough has been a key figure on the Belfast jazz scene since his return from studies at Newcastle College. Currently performing with leading northern players such as Linley Hamilton, he has also worked with prominent visiting British musicians Bobby Wellins and Jacqui Dankworth.

Belfast guitarist Mark McKnight is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, Boston. Whilst attending the college he studied with many of the world’s foremost jazz educators and received numerous awards. Recent highlights include a tour with the RTE Big Band and Irish dates with Konrad Wiszniewski (GB) and David Smith (NYC).
