The Beatorrent show is an intense 90 minute journey through hip hop and electronica mixed with jaw dropping precision and skill, on 4 decks, by record breaking world champion DJs Pfel & Atom. Their unique shows see them remix artists as varied as Jimi Hendrix, Daft Punk, Franz Ferdinand and and Q-Tip as well as creating their own compositions on the turntables. They use their decks as instruments, recreating in turn drums or bass guitars, scratching a riff of guitar or shearing the brass…leading to a harmony of sound in much the same vein as bands who use traditional instruments to make their music.
They are unusual in the DJ world in that they don’t “play” any tunes, everything you hear is created using turntable manipulation of samples of tracks. So be it jaw dropping turntablism or damn fine party tunes you’re after you’ll not be disappointed.
