This is a quick reminder about the workshops taking place this weekend. There are still some spaces available (for further information on each workshop please see below). Also, the Willow Sulpture workshop which had originally been planned for Saturday 18 October will now take place on Saturday 25 October.
La chanson française: Léo Ferré *

One of the three French singer song writers, with Brel and Brassens, to be
considered as a standard reference in French music. A talented composer
and pianist, he combines lyricism and slang to produce powerful and poetic
songs. Following a presentation we will listen to and discuss a few songs, such
as La mémoire et la mer, Paris je ne t’aime plus. Workshop in French
Mosaics Made Easy *
with Caroline Huey
Saturday 18 October • 10.30am-4.30pm • £25.00/£20.00
Explore the world of making mosaics and learn that making mosaics can be
easy. Once this skill has been learned no surface in the home will be safe! For
the purposes of this workshop participants will be creating a mosaic on a
small table–top, mirror / picture frame or house number plate. Please bring
a selection of tiles and ask for info sheet on enroling.
Modern Theatre Practitioners: Augusto Boal *
with Rosie Pelan
Sunday 19 October • 2.00pm-4.00pm • £12.00/£10.00
A major director, writer and theorist of the modern theatrical age, mainly
due to his revolutionary position regarding the ‘spectactor’ and his creation
of ‘Forum Theatre’. Through a mix of theory and practice, you will under-
stand Boal and his methods and also use drama exercises, Boalian games and
Forum Theatre techniques to create your own performance.
Willow Sculpture *
with Alacoque Davey
Saturday 25 October • 10.00am-4.00pm • £30.00/£25.00 (incl materials)
An introduction to working 3-dimensionally with soft pliable ‘withies’
(willow) to create a framework around which coloured tissue paper is
layered and glued to create a beautifully translucent surface. The finished
result will be a durable paper lantern sculpture for either decorative or
functional use. No previous experience necessary. Please wear old clothes.
