Belfast’s Midsummer Dancing in the Park
The Crescent Arts Centre’s midsummer dance festival CityDance takes place on a day in June every year. Everyone is invited to enjoy dance performances and take part in open workshops showcasing the wide range of dance classes available at the Crescent Arts Centre.
This year’s CityDance will be on Saturday, 23 June 2007.
Now in its 12th year this free outdoor dance festival attracts ever increasing audiences of all ages to enjoy over thirty performances and workshops. CityDance07 will provide opportunities to enjoy Bollywood, Salsa, Hip Hop, Breakdance, as well as Classical Ballet, Tap Dance and leading edge Contemporary Dance. There will be a chance to try Greek Dance, Egyptian Belly Dance and Hawaiian Dance, and to have a go at Poi Dancing from New Zealand. CityDance07 gives a flavour of the fantastic range of dance available throughout the year at the Crescent with lots of chances to join in the dances. This year’s festival will be hosted by Fra Gunn, popular local storyteller. And who knows what dance stories he’ll have to tell?
