Room Hire

The Crescent offers a variety of spaces that cater to the needs of the arts and business community. Rooms are available for classes, conferences, meetings or performances. If you have any queries or would like to place a booking, send us an email with dates and details of your requirements. Optional equipment is available to hire at additional cost.

Art Studio

A large, bright and spacious studio on the top floor of the building that takes full advantage of natural light and features the original building roof beams. Ideal for arts & crafts, or seminars and workshops.

Capacity: approx 20 people
Charity Rate: £15/hr plus VAT
Commerical Rate: £30/hr plus VAT

Photographic Studio & Dark Room

A double-room comprised of a light-sealed dark room equipped for photographic development, and adjoining small workshop.

Capacity: approx 8 people

Helen Lewis Dance Studio

Named in memory of our late patron, Helen Lewis MBE, this state-of-the-art dance studio provides excellent facilities for dance and movement, as well as being an excellent conference space.

Capacity: approx 25 people for dance, 80 people seated

Workshop 4

The Studio

The Studio is a multi purpose space. One wall is lined with mirrors and barres, while the other is lined with windows that look out onto the historic Crescent Church and Lower Crescent Park. With a floorspace of 138 square metres, it has the ability to function as a classroom, a meeting space or theatre space that seats 80-100 people

The Cube

A black box theatre capable of holding up to 220 people. Fitted with state-of-the-art equipment, this is a highly adaptable space. Full technical specifications available upon request.

Margaret Byers Board Room

Founder, first headmistress of Victoria College and pioneer of Womens’ education in 19th Century Ireland, Maragaret Byers commissioned this building in 1873. This board room would have originally been her private study. It has been tastefully furnished with its history in mind and provides an excellent meeting, conference and classroom.

Capacity: 20 meeting room style, 30-35 theatre style

Features: Tastefully furnished in keeping with the original Victorian usage.
