Outreach

The Crescent Arts Outreach programme is organised in partnership with community and voluntary groups, schools, hospitals, hostels and day centers to provide innovative, sustainable arts activities for the whole community which encourage creative expression, cultural understanding and enjoyment.

The workshops are facilitated by the Crescent Outreach Team of experienced community artists, who work closely with the groups to develop activities that meet their particular needs and creative aspirations.

Story Telling Workshops


Promoting Citizenship and cultural awareness with over 15 primary schools in Belfast

MyPlace Project

Working with 6 community groups across Belfast using drama and movement, story telling and visual arts, creative writing and photography to explore favourite places and memories in Belfast. Look out for the ‘My Place’ Exhibition in the Autumn Term.



Cinemagic

Dance, film and Drama for Young People.



Dance for Children 6-11 years

Weekly classes from 18th August at Donegall Pass Community Centre

Creative Exchanges

Young people from all over belfast and international young people participating in a week of free theatre workshops led by Drama Practitioners Natasha Wilton and Mary Frances Doherty.




ElderFlowers Community Dance for ladies over 55

A free weekly class in the CAC. The ElderFlowers also meet community groups and provide workshops.  Look out for the Elder Flowers performance at St Mary’s College Theatre, Tuesday 6th Aug 2010. See Feile an Phobal programme for details.

Autumn Term Ages 15-18

This theatre company is completely free and offers young people the chance to learn about theatre, acting skills and techniques as they receive guidance from arts professionals.

All we require is dedicated young people who are enthusiastic and punctual…and from here we believe confidence and talent will develop.

During term times we will meet once a week and put one show on a year in The Cube Theatre.

Look out for City Dance at The Crescent Arts Centre in October 2010. Participate in a free day of Dance workshops with community performances and a selection of dance workshops from tap to hip hop!! Admission Free!!
