To be eligible for this prize you must register by completing the survey, stating your name, email address and contact telephone number.

The survey closes at 17:00 on 15 August 2011.  Prize draw will take place on the evening of the 15 August 2011. The winners will be announced on our Twitter and Facebook pages and contacted via telephone and/or email.

This competition is not open to staff members of The Crescent Arts Centre, their relatives, friends or spouses. The free class only applies to classes that are Crescent-run, i.e. NOT marked with an asterisk (*) or similar. Proof of ID must be shown when selecting and enroling for the class at the CAC, as well as when booking tickets for the free events selected and on attending these events. The free class prize and the event ticket prize can only be attended by the winner of each prize, and cannot be used by their friends and/or family. The class must be enroled for during designated enrolment weeks, and is subject to availability.  The event prize entitles the winner to a pair of tickets for Crescent-run shows from 1 September 2011 until 31st December 2011 only. Events must be booked in advance, notifying staff that you are the competition winner, and are subject to availability.
Standard age restrictions with respect to classes and events apply. CAC reserves the right to cancel/postpone any event or class listed.
The winners must agree to their image being used for publicity purposes by CAC.

The Belfast Book Festival 2011 runs from 13-19 June 2011, and offers over 60 events that appeal to the widest range of readers and writers across Belfast.

There are established authors such as John Banville, Maurice Leitch, and David Peace; authors with new works, Jo Baker and Lucy Caldwell; performers such asLarry Lamb and Owen O’Neill; poets like Martin Mooney, Leontia Flynn and Ben Maier.

There’ll also be events based on The Belfast Blitz: The People’s Story with readings from a new book of eye-witness accounts, the first live performance of W.R. Rodgers’ The Return Room, as well as the launch of People in Trouble Laughing Pushed to the Ground.

Beyond that there are slams and performances by the poetry collective Lung Soup, in celebration of Andrew Elliot’s last book. There’ll be a reenactment of Swift’s Battle of the Books, talks, and a wide ranging outreach programme involving children and the creative writing classes at the Crescent.

We will also be celebrating Blackstaff Press’s 40 birthday by getting a whole wrangle of writers into the same room and having a cake, and closing the festival with a very Special event.

In place of our usual enrolment day we are now holding a weekend filled with taster sessions of our classes.
If you would like to talk to the tutors in this programme, see them demonstrate their crafts or where possible would like to “try before you buy” then this is for you!

Lee and Jen from “ROBOTS”, who have been commissioned for artworks throughout the building, will be present this weekend too! Come along and meet the artists who will be on hand to explain their ideas behind the artwork which will be installed soon.

Belfast Talent School will be available this weekend to discuss their classes in more detail and take enrolments for the upcoming term.

BelfastTrad will also be on hand during the weekend to answer any questions you may have about their classes – and remember BelfastTrad enrolment night is Thursday 28 April 2011 from 6-8pm.

European Heritage Open Days are held annually in September in 49 countries highlighting not only the dazzling diversity of Europe’s heritage but also its intercultural links.

During this weekend the public are given the chance to explore buildings and grounds that are not normally open, for free.
